Dum Dum Dah Dum

Nathan reminded me today that I only have one year left to back out. How romantic!

We are officially 365 days from our wedding date! With only a church and dj to book, we are really excited and looking forward to the small details ahead of us!

The countdown is on!

Garfunkel

This is my nephew Max after his bath, my brother likes to refer to him as Garfunkel. He's all boy...no more baby boy!

The Hollenbaugh's!

We traveled to Columbus, OH this past weekend for Michelle and Chad's wedding. The best part? Being with great friends while we watched the happy couple get hitched and then celebrate. The absolutely HORRIBLE part? We had to stay in The Blackwell (a very nice hotel) BUT it's right next to that "other" stadium. Grr. Michelle was a beautiful bride and Chad couldn't have looked happier. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

A Visit from the Zyducks

This past weekend Bev and Rick came to visit. Rick is leaving to start a new job in Shangai China so he wanted to spend a little time with his kiddos and his grandpuppy. They stayed with us on Friday night which was fun. Then we all headed south to Perrysburg for a nice brunch at the local Cafe Marie. After brunch Rissa and Pat headed home to Dayton, Bev headed to a wedding of a friend's son while the rest of the boys and I went shopping and then to lunch. Here are some photos from their visit.

Goodbye Nathan...and Good Luck!

Nathan left tonight for Dow. He is pretty excited and I think just a bit nervous. We are so lucky that he's close so he can come home almost every weekend! I'm really hoping that he enjoys his project and the people that he's now working with. I'm sure it will be a quick summer...followed by an even faster school year!

Now that we'll both be working full time, Sampson will start attending Doggie Day Care. A friend of ours takes her puppies to a local place called "The Naughty Dog Cafe" which is where Sampson will go 1-2 days a week. This will help keep him socialized with other dogs and will cut down on the guilt I'll feel that he's home all alone for the first time!

You Scream I Scream

We all scream for ice cream CAKE!!! I made this ice cream cake for my coworker Sara's birthday today. I must admit, I didn't do it alone. Nathan was actually very helpful in creating the crust as well as deciding on our flavored layers. It was really delicious and surprisingly easy to make! Our cake was layers of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream. YUM!!!

The Rookies and Dave

We had a great time today golfing on The University of Michigan's golf course. We went along with two of our friends, Bryan and Dave. Nathan, Bryan and I are what you call "beginners." Dave, well Dave was what you call a professional! We had a great time minus the fact that we were asked to move faster by numerous course employees, and despite the fact that Dave was the only player able to control his strokes. Nathan is currently searching eBay for his own set of clubs so we can golf together more often without him having to rent clubs!

(notice the professional golfer Dave swinging away!)

While the Cat's Away...

The mice will play.

One of the staff members went on a Hawaiian vacation this past week. When she gets to work on Monday (her birthday) this will be our treat to her!Sure hope she likes it!

The Lone Tulip

How exciting! Nathan and I have four tulips in our front yard. They popped up out of no where! We had two reds and one yellow. The last tulip took forever to bloom and this is it! A white one! I kept telling Nathan "I really hope it's a white one" and I really was hopeful. He called me at work just to say "Sweetie, it's white!" I was SO excited and had to take a picture to share with you all. I just love white tulips...especially in my front yard!

Cinco de Mayo

Feliz Cinco de Mayo from my coworkers:

Jenny...the funny one

Carmina...the preggo one! :)

Seven Weddings and a Wine Tour

Yesterday was so much fun. We joined our friends Matt and Amanda for a local wine tour. We spent our Saturday traveling from vineyard to vineyard, five in all. We bought a bottle at every spot! We all agreed that the last stop was the best one. At this winery, Sandhill, we tasted 15 of their wines...WOW! They were also having a birthday celebration at the vineyard for their 5 year old Airedale, Rose. We are all dog people so we were so glad to be taking part in a wonderful dog birthday while we drank great wine served by an entertaining woman with a great name, Anne!

(Nathan tried some Port..yuck!)

When we got back to Ann Arbor I had to run to Hallmark for bridal shower and wedding cards. We have SEVEN weddings this summer! It's hard to find seven great non-cheesy wedding cards, so I ended up with some duplicates. Oh well.
