A Fresh Start

Life is changing quite a bit for our little family so I decided it was time to move on from this Table For Two. Below is a link for our new blog that we'll be posting more regularly in throughout the new year. Hope to "see" you over there soon! http://themamaduckblog.blogspot.com/

Year to date

I can't believe that's it's already been a full year since my last post. So many wonderfully awful things have happened in that time. Here's a quick overview... I took a new job. Still first grade. Same district. Basically just a different school with WAY more support! I have absolutely loved it and feel so at home when I'm there. The kids are in great need of everything from crayons to love and I am happy to fill those voids when and where I can. We traveled to Michigan quite a few times for game day. The best one was obviously watching Michigan beat Ohio State...although watching them beat Notre Dame under the lights was a very close second! In March we lost my dad suddenly. He did pass peacefully in his sleep which many consider a blessing but as a family unit I think we all just wish it had happened 20 to 30 years from now. I spent the rest of March and a good part of April in Cincinnati with my mom and the many family members that rotated in and out spreading their love and support. We were shocked to find out that we were expecting our first baby - our first child will always be Sampson. More fun updates on that to come... We celebrated my dad's amazing life with friends and family in late July. It was a very healing experience spending an entire weekend with people that my dad loved and they in return loved and miss him. I know he was watching the whole party...loving all of the kiddos playing and the adults reminiscing. After a trip to Texas we had to rush Sampson to a variety of vets and specialists only to find out that he was diagnosed with a degenerative disease, Wobblers Syndrome. Since then we've had a lot of health scares with him being unable to walk, bladder infections and being attacked by fire ants while he was outside. Poor puppy can't catch a break! We were so happy when we celebrated his 5th birthday this August...with medical management we're hoping to celebrate a few more! And now for the beginning of a new school year...a new HEALTHY baby...and who knows what else!!! Back in a bit...
