She's Here....

My coworker and his wife had their baby - a sweet, healthy and beautiful little girl. I couldn't resist making some more "specialized" cookies for Miss Julianne and her family to enjoy! Remember the other ones I made way back when?

More on the other items I delivered soon...

Don't Stop Believin'...

Last night we headed to see a Journey cover band with some of our buddies. They were sooo good! We were all surprised by that fact and that we knew so many of their songs. I had NO idea that they sang the theme song for Glee. That made me happy to sing along to! Just a small town girl.......

Before that we'd met some other friends for Valentine's Day (the girls) and Wolfman (the boys). I was really happy with my movie choice! It reminded me so much of Love Actually so if you liked that one you'll love this one just as much! Nate saw Wolfman and thinks it was decent...but nothing to write home about. We followed our movies with a glass of wine from Dean and Deluca...it was so refreshing! I'm trying to talk myself out of the trusty Pinot Grigio and into a Cabernet every now and again. We'll see...

For today, the actual Valentine's Day my Valentine is making dinner. Woot. Woot. I'm pretty sure I'm off dish duty too...yippee!!!!

Seroogy's Returns!

My parents sent us Seroogy's chocolates for Valentine's Day. One night and this many are already gone. Ha! If you've never tried them I HIGHLY suggest the assorted tray!

A Valentine Surprise

Made some cupcakes for my kiddos. Sure hope they like them!

I used some of the cupcakes for a gift. A few homemade cupcakes, red plate from Target ($2) and a big Vday bow and voila! I think it turned out sweet!

Dear John - The Movie

First let me say that I am NOT a movie snob whatsoever! My dad blessed me with his love of movies. So basically, if you want to see it I'll go too.

I have a guilty pleasure for seeing books I've read on film. Even if it means I have to hurry up and read something in order to see it at the movie theatre.

So, of course I had to see Dear John on opening weekend. I was so nervous that the movie would have the same ending as the book and if so, I would be a complete mess like when I read it. Well, I was pleasantly surprised at all of the changes that they made from beginning to end. Yes, I know, most people despise when books are different as movies. I just expect it and try to rooooooll with it. Let me just say that I was so glad I rolled with this one because it was goooood!

Anybody else see it and LOVE it...or hate it??

Wedding Season Commences

We got Nate's sisters wedding invitation the other day. I can't get the photo to turn...sorry! She and her fiance decided to use old photos of buildings in Perrysburg OH (where they both grew up and also met in school) throughout the invitation. From the original church to the old school. I loved the boldness of the black envelope with the white writing when I pulled it out of the mail pile! Isn't it unique?

Bravo, Future Sawyers, Bravo!

Butterfly Cupcakes

We made 24 of these beauties over the holiday break. They created quite the "Wow Factor" for our New Years Day dinner we went to. Although putsy they were really pretty and made for an interesting evening!

I found the recipe in this book:

Onesie Cookies

With the help of Annie's Eats and many a phone call to my mom I made these beauties for a baby shower at work. My co-worker, Mark, and his wife are expecting their first little one at the end of the month and they don't know the sex of le bebe. So, the Kindergarten team is throwing a shower for him. I'm super excited to show these babies off...they took me a long time but I loved practically every second of it!

Here's my favorite design...

P.S. If you decide to take on a project like this I HIGHLY suggest sketching out your designs before you start...it helps a great deal!!!!

Friday Night Football

We stepped in for a "stomach-flu-ridden babysitter" this past Friday. I used to babysit this little guy when he really was just a little guy and now he has an 18 month old brother and a 6 month old sister. (I know, right!) Anywhoo...Nate and Jack spent a good 2 hours before bedtime playing some crazy version of football in the front play room. I'm not sure about Jack, but I know Nate was worn out and slept in Saturday morning. Ha Ha Ha...

Should I Be Worried?

On New Years Eve somebody gave our puppy dog his own midnight refreshment. Don't worry, he only got a little bit. BUT. Sampson will run from anywhere in the house if he hears a beer can or bottle being opened...and he DOES know the difference between soda, beer and anything else. Now both my boys have an affection for PBR...Yuck!
