Darn.

Bev, my Grandma, my mom and I weren't too lucky this weekend. After two VERY full days of shopping we found one dress that was great, but not THE dress. Everyone traveled safely to and from Cincinnati and the weekend itself was priceless, even though we were dressless in the end.

My mom and I continued the search this afternoon after the ladies flew home. We found a great option, but I have a few other dresses to try up here before I can settle on anything.

I've got my fingers crossed that we find it soon!

The search is on...

Tomorrow morning I am driving to Cincinnati. My Grandma and Bev (Nathan's mom) are flying in. Starting Friday morning we are going to be searching for THE dress. That's right, it's wedding dress time! I am so excited to find it, and even more excited to share this journey with my Mom, Grandma and Bev! Wish us luck...

Disclaimer: In case you're worried, this is NOT my dream dress.

My Apologies

For those of you who actually check this thing, I apologize. Work has been so crazy this past month. I literally worked 12 and 14 hour days...sometimes seven days a week. I was one of four ladies in charge of the "Ross Leadership Initiative Foundation Session." Basically in place of an orientation to school program we welcome all 450 incoming MBA students to an orientation to leadership program. We were able to have six successful days full of seminars and large group activities. At one point we turned an empty soccer field into an Iron Chef competition. Literally! There were six groups of 70 people with their own cooking equipment, including grills! They had to work as a team to present a meal that fed 80 people. We had guest judges including: the Dean of Ross, a Ross Admissions Counselor, a Food Network consultant and an 8 year old. It was a fabulous event and a wonderful week. I still can't believe that it's all over. Planning a wedding should be a piece of cake now, right?

Sorry for the absence...it's great to be back! :) I just updated with a bunch of posts today, enjoy!

Katy and Vince Frigmanski

One of my best friend's from high school got married yesterday. I was a reader in their ceremony which is always interesting. I get so emotional lately with weddings so standing in front of the crowd to read small print never seems like a good idea. Thank goodness this time I was reading Corinthians, which has become second nature after attending all of these other weddings.

They got married at Saint Rose in Perrysburg. It's an old historic and gorgeous church! Here's a snapshot from their rehearsal.

Katy looked stunning. I don't even want to ask how early she had to start her morning with an 11 a.m. cermony time! Vince looked so excited all day long.

After the cermony I didn't have too much to do. Pat and Rissa were also invited the the wedding so we ended up grabbing lunch at a local sportsbar. I got to see my Wolverine's play and they got to watch (barf) the Buckeyes play. It was really nice to spend some time with them during the downtime.

Natie made is to the reception!

Our table with Pat and Rissa!

My "Mountain Dew Slushie" Buddy and I

The newlyweds and I. It's always so amazing to see your friends get married...especially when they're as happy as Vince and Katy were!

Congratulations you two...we're all so happy for you!

My New Signature

We have had such a wonderful summer seeing friends and family getting married. Along with the weddings come the showers and the bachelorette's though. This has become my signature bachelorette gift. I happen to think they're kinda cute and the ladies seem to like them as well!

Birthday Concert

Nathan and I attended the Counting Crows concert for my birthday...he bought the tickets in April as my present. We had a great time and couldn't believe how great all of the bands sounded. Augustana opened for Maroon 5 who openened for Counting Crows. It was one of the longest concerts we've ever been to. We seriously recommend the concert...everyone sounded great and they played FOREVER!

We have a photo just like this from nine years ago...when we went to our first live concert together.

Gotta love the Counting Crows! At the end of the concert the lead singer, Adam, made an interesting presentation. Instead of highlighting "Celebrities for AID's Prevention in Africa" or some other faraway country, he highlighted local organizations that help local people. Then he went into this whole schpiel about voting and how he doesn't give a rip who you vote for, just go out and do it. I couldn't agree more.

We stayed the night in Cincy so the boys had to sleep in the front room. When I came out in the morning this is how they were sleeping. Nate got so used to cuddling with the big lug in Midland that they just can't seem to stay apart. Literally, Sampson has officially invaded our bed at home too. Not so sure how long this will last...

Mmm...Graeter's...Mint Chocolate Chip for him, Black Raspberry Chip for her.

Sampson kept staring at it...."Where's Mine?"

Alisa and Alan al-Bochi

I can't believe I had to miss Alisa's wedding. She married her honey Alan a little over a week ago. This Foundation Session thing really threw a knot into our plans! Her is a shot of the beautiful bride on her big day. Can't wait for her to send me some photos of the three of them...hint hint...

Ana and Pete Eliason

Nate and I weren't able to make it to Ana and Pete's wedding either. What a beautiful bride! Ana was one of my roomies my senior year at Luther. They got married near Stillwater MN which is all of fifteen minutes from Bev and Rick's. It would have been so nice to visit with all of my college roomies...

Miss you girls...

Beth and Paul Samenuk

Doesn't this look like a knot.com photo? I was so bummed to miss their wedding, but glad Nathan could be there to support them for both of us. Love you guys...

Frankie's Third Birthday

Nathan headed to Columbus for Paul and Beth's wedding. I couldn't make it because of work. I was so upset to miss the wedding and Frankie's birthday, but Nathan promised to take some good photos for me! Here are a few snapshots.

The birthday girl posing for her uncle.

Baby Roo...although she isn't looking so much like a baby anymore.

Frankie was ready to par-tay!

Nathan tried to take a "blog post photo" with the girls, but nobody seemed to want to sit still. This was the best they could get.

Party time!

Time for presents. We got Frankie some really cute items from the Melissa and Doug collection. Lace and thread signs and magnet ballerinas. That line has some of the cutest things!

Libby thought for sure that Frankie would want a princess birthday. Well, she ended up making a "Hobbit" cake for the "Hobbit Pool Party." Frankie's really into the cartoon Hobbit show...Libby did a great job with the cake!
