Card Carrying Member

As most of you already know, Nate and I are in a bit of a "transition" phase right now. Call it "limbo", call it a "segue"...but no matter what you call it it still means we have:

1. No money
2. No jobs
3. No home of our own

Today I decided to head to the local library to get a new card. Because I lived here during the summers when I was in college I knew they'd have my information on file. None of our bills, etc. have this address on them so Nater-Gator can't be a "resident" and thus can't get a library card. Soo...one dollar later I was ecstatic because a new world had just opened up for us.

Confession: I am a book buyer. I buy books to read. I buy books to just set on my coffee table. I buy books because the cover looks pretty. Sometimes I even buy books and (gasp!) never read them. I know, wild. I think I get it from my dad. He loves Borders, Joseph Beth and just about any other book store and he's not afraid to walk out with a cd or two. Anyway, when I lived in Charlotte I would constantly go to Borders and buy children's books for a lesson the next week, books for a book club I was in and more often than not I'd buy hard and paperbacks that looked interesting. So, although I had a library card in Charlotte I only used it once.

Well, a lack of money does things to people because I am SO excited about my new little card. I walked out with a new WW cookbook (great posts for future WWW coming your way!) and when I got home Nate and I both starting reserving books and audio cd's for the next few weeks. Here's our list...and don't you DARE judge me! :)

I can't wait for this one to get in...I almost just broke down and bought it yesterday while getting a certain dad a Border's gift card for a certain special Sunday

I'm the 5th person in line for this one...but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait

I'm a teacher, I always listen to BOTH sides of the story.

Love Jodi Picoult and my aunt confirmed it was a good summer read!

We reserved the audio-version of this book for the ride back from the cottage - we listen to Holiday's on Ice every road trip to and from our families so this should be GOOD too!

My friend LaGina and I have read all of her books. I read it. Give it to LaGina. She reads it. Then we pass it on. Wonder how she'll ever read this one...

I have a feeling this card is going to get a LOT of use out of it!

Awesome! I got my library card in the mail (you can register online without having to go through the whole ID thing) yesterday. I probably won't get to use it until next week though. Too busy until then, but looking forward to borrowing instead of buying.

I LOVED my Ann Arbor library card! And I loved the online reservation system!

Happy reading :)
